Hello Everyone,
First and foremost, we hope you and your loved ones are all safe and well. Due to COVID-19, we’ve had to dramatically change the way we live our daily lives.
As we continue to navigate this new reality, I’d like to address the latest updates from Kanopy, driven by our desire to ensure public and academic libraries, and all associated communities, are supported throughout this pandemic.
We’ve worked hard with our partners to extend our offers through May 31, 2020:
Support for Academic Libraries
Special Discount Offers
We are continuing to offer special pricing for 1-year upfront and PDA licenses to better support students and faculty in the transition to online classes.
The Great Courses
Free access to The Great Courses entire catalog will continue through May.
Kanopy Spotlight
We have increased the titles available in our Kanopy Spotlight, which do not incur any fees for academic libraries. These films are updated weekly and once available in the Spotlight collection, remain free for 30 days.
Support for Public Libraries
Kanopy Kids
We are making all films from our Kanopy Kids collection available, at no cost to public libraries, until May 31, 2020.
Credit-Free Viewing
Kanopy has extended the Credit-Free Viewing window through May 31, 2020. The films are updated on a weekly basis and are available at no cost for 30 days, once they appear on this list.
The Great Courses – Infectious Diseases Collection
We are excited to announce free and unlimited access to the Infectious Diseases collection from The Great Courses. Throughout these 24 free video lectures, Dr. Barry Fox delivers clear and up-to-date information on dozens of infectious diseases—from where they originate, to how they spread, to how we can overcome their devastating effects. Arm yourself with scientific facts about bacterial infections, viruses, vaccines, and more in this engaging course by an award-winning professor and physician. This collection will not incur any fees to libraries. Available now through May 31, 2020.
We continue to add new films and partners to these programs and will update this list on a weekly basis. Once films appear on this list, they are available at no cost for 30 days.

At Kanopy, we recognize that public and academic libraries are facing administrative and financial difficulties in light of the health and safety precautions associated with COVID-19. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the virus. One thing that remains unwavering is Kanopy’s commitment to helping our library partners get through this period.

Kanopy Support for Public Libraries
Credit-Free Viewing Films:
Streaming these critically acclaimed, independent films and documentaries will not deduct a play credit from patron’s monthly allotment, and are at no cost to the library. Our list will continue to evolve and we encourage you to check back periodically.
Free Unlimited Access of Kanopy Kids:
In addition to these films, we will offer free, unlimited access to Kanopy Kids so that library partner communities can continue to engage in providing educational content to kids and families at home.
Kanopy Support for Academic Libraries
Free Collection
Thanks to the support of The Great Courses, all collections will be available to stream at no cost to partnering colleges and universities around the globe. We believe this will aid professors and faculties as they craft new ways to teach remotely.
Free Films for Faculty and Students – Kanopy Spotlight:
Additionally, films available for free to students and faculty can be found here. Our list will continue to grow on a weekly basis, and we encourage you to check back periodically.
Special Pricing for Academic Libraries:
We are also offering special pricing for 1-year upfront and PDA licenses. This pricing will be automatically reflected in the ordering system and outgoing invoices. Please feel free to reach out to your account manager with any questions on how to purchase these licenses.
